O-Nuts at DK’s Donuts!

This Santa Monic bakery has filled my stomach with perfectly fried O-Nuts (also known as cronuts in the east coast) and donuts, which in turn made my heart happy and whole. 🙂

To give you some insight on what DK’s Donuts and Bakery’s O-Nut is, it’s a creation developed originally developed by New York City pastry chef – Dominique Ansel.

The pastries original name is Cronut at Dominque Ansel Bakery. It’s a hybrid between a croissant-doughnut, taking the best of both pastries and combining into one crunchy, flaky and sweet cronut.

DK’s Donut is one the best O-Nuts in the west coast and is comparable to the one in New York.

However, I still think the NY one is better. DK’s has a variety of donuts for you to try.

I recommend getting a maple iced glazed and the original cronut to try prior to branching out and getting wild with the other flavors!

If you are feeling adventurous then order the fruity pebbles and ube purple donuts and anything else that catches your attention.

Tip:

This place is cash only! Come early to get the fresh donuts and O-nuts. There are vegan donuts as well for you to try. Parking sucks and the lot is small too.
